I am currently 25 years old, and I was born and raised in California, USA. I graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and currently work as a Software Engineer. I created my original website when I was around 15 years old – www.vikramkhalsa.tk, featuring some artwork and magic videos. I first officially released my proper website www.vikramkhalsa.com in early 2007. The purpose of the website was to share some of my interests with my friends and the wider community.
The main motivation for my website was magic. I’ve been learning and performing magic since I was around 8 years old. I originally put up magic videos for download as links, and later when youtube came out I started posting my videos there. My website provided entertainment for online visitors as well as a place for potential clients to learn more about me, view videos, read testimonials and book shows.
I also got into digital graphics and design at a very young age. This website itself was a result of that interest as well as a way to share my artwork with others. This consists of mostly sikhi-related images such as gurbani wallpapers and well known images modified to give a different message.
Sikhi is not just my religion but my way of life. I originally had a whole section about sikhi which included a collection of links to over a thousand documents/articles and videos relating to sikhi, organized by category. I put this together to make information about sikhi more accessible and easier to find. However, search engines have made so much progress over the past 5 years that that section is no longer necessary.
I love listening to and doing kirtan and playing tabla. The Keertan section on this site contains mp3 of various local keertan programs that I myself recorded and wanted to share with everyone.
Another significant interest of mine is creating, building, and inventing stuff. I use this term purposely because the stuff I make is hard to describe specifically. I always had an interest in electronic projects and customizing things – anything hands-on sparks my interest. This website includes a whole blog area in which I showcase and describe my creations. Some of them are up for sale and others were made as gifts.
I absolutely love comedy, and I try my best to find the humor in every situation. Most of my jokes tend to be pretty lame, but in general I just enjoy making people laugh.
Don’t hesitate to contact me with questions, comments, suggestions, ideas, links, sikhi related content etc, or if you just want to talk. I can’t guarantee a response, but I’ll try my best.
