Custom Tablet Case
I made this about a year ago too, but for some reason never put it up then. Last summer we bought an android tablet but unfortunately it did not come with a case. Since it wasn’t a name-brand tablet, it was hard to find cases made specially for it. I didn’t want to spend money and get something that didn’t even fit properly, so I decided to just make my own. I bought this thin foam like sheet from Michaels for less than a dollar and cut it out to make the pieces. Then I just taped them together from the inside and sewed them together by hand from the outside using a nylon-like thread. This made sure that it all stayed together and looked nice. Here is the process and the final product:

Customized VSK Ultimate Vaja
With LED lit keyboard and built-in phone stand.
Lately, I’ve been thinking of many ideas to customize, improve, and add features to my harmonium. I recently came up with the idea of adding LED lights for the keyboard to assist in seeing the keys while playing in the dark. Although this wasn’t a much needed feature I felt it could have some practical benefits for some people and it definitely looks cool. After putting the lights in I realized I didn’t really like the look of my vaja (it was pretty old and worn out with plenty of cuts and scratches on the paint) and the wiring/LED setup didn’t look very nice either. So I decided to “clean it up” a little and make the electrical work more hidden. I figured while doing this I might as well customize the look of my vaja and give it a makeover. I went with my favorite black and silver theme, and tried to make it look more elegant too. There is no visible wiring, an easily accessible battery holder, and a push-button switch built into the wood. My last addition was a hidden iphone/PDA stand which rotates out when you need it. This was the result of my Spring Break:

VSK Clay Wallet
I wanted to make something out of clay, and I somehow came up with an idea of how to implement it into a wallet. I used silver clay to make 2 thin rectangular panels and etched a vsk pattern onto it, and then baked it. Then I made a duct tape wallet but used the two clay parts as the outside. The cool thing about the clay was that I can have whatever custom 3-D textured on the outside. It hardens into an almost flexible type plastic so its really durable.

Copper Art
Last semester I took a 3D art class at my college in which I learned a lot of cool new stuff, including how to emboss/engrave thin sheets of copper to depict an image in a way that really ‘pops out.’
For my project I made an image of Harmandir Sahib. It took a lot of work.. I was surprised at how it came out!
After the class was over I tried to figure out new ways to present this type of art and enhance its appearance. I made this as a gift for someone. I wanted to make it a unique display piece in the sense that it looks like its going to fall or its balancing at an impossible angle. The support is a hole drilled into the tile sample with a bent nail going through it.
Then I tried another approach for this present by painting the copper silver. I cut it out and glued it onto a CD,then I made a stand for it out of cut Popsicle sticks painted silver. I wanted to give it a minimalistic floating kind of look, from the front you cant see the sticks, just the base.
I decided to try and take this technique to the next level by attempting it on a piece of aluminum.
After embossing the letters, I painted them in black, cut it out and attached it over the original emblem on my car to customize it!
