Home-made Khartaal (Chhenay)

This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but I never got around to it. Those of you who attend long kirtan programs and sit near the stage area have probably noticed that these tend to break a lot. The nails start coming out, the little metal things crack and fall out, the thin metal pieces along the side start coming off, and the wood starts splintering. A lot of times while playing I try to fix them. Once I looked carefully and I saw printing on the little metal disks, realizing that they were made from some can or other recycled metal. After that
I thought someday I would try to make my own. Now I finally got a chance to go buy a piece of wood from the hardware store, and I started working on it. The cutting was much more difficult than I thought, and I worked pretty slowly. But I’m finally done! I made sure the edges are all nice and rounded and smooth. My grandma likes playing it because it is a lot lighter than the others. Here it is:

Randomness #5 : Revolutionary Invention – Evaporated Water!

This genius idea came to me through divine inspiration early in my childhood years. However, without access to the right materials necessary to create something so amazing and unique, I could not start my work. In addition, no one took me seriously at such a young age. But years later I remembered my revolutionary idea, and now using my incredible photoshop skills, I have created it. The consumer product that will change the world. Prepare to be awestruck.

Evaporated Water

Thats right, evaporated water. And organic too. 0 calories, 0g sugar, 0g trans fat. Sounds too good to be true, huh? Imagine the implications of such a thing. How would this affect the masses? Instant water in any environment, with no risk to health, and without sacrificing taste or nutrients. I know I know, you’re too baffled to speak. Its ok, you can thank me later. Just rest easy now, knowing that such a thing has been invented for the benefit of mankind.
